STEPS TO FOLLOW TO GET READY

 STEP #4: NOMINATIONS
Each assembly elects persons to serve in a number of key positions within the synod for set terms of office. These leaders are very important to the life and vitality of the NT-NL Synod. We take great care and pride in our elected leaders, and we invite you to prayerfully consider nominating people to fill the following offices. Nominations will be accepted from the floor of the assembly, but the Nominations Committee expects to prepare a full slate in the weeks leading up to the assembly.

POSITIONS TO BE ELECTED AT THE 2010 SYNOD ASSEMBLY

SYNOD TREASURER
(four year term, clergy or lay, accounting skills needed)
•
SYNOD COUNCIL MEMBERSHIP
Lay female from the Mid-Cities Conference
Lay female from the North Central West Conference
Ordained person from East Texas - North Louisiana Conference
Lay male from the Waco Conference
Lutheran Youth Organization - male
(four year terms beginning July 1, 2010)

VOTING MEMBERS TO THE CHURCHWIDE ASSEMBLY
One clergy - female
One clergy - male
Two lay females (with at least one under age 30)
Two lay males (with at least one under age 30)
One lay male or female who is a person of color or whose primary language is other than English

HOW TO NOMINATE SOMEONE
If you want to nominate someone for an elected office, please use the Vita Nominations form to describe their qualifications. The Nominations Committee will select persons for offices based on set criteria (gender, geographic location, age etc.), secure their agreement to be on the ballot, use the vita to create a printed biographic summary for the Voting Members to use as a reference, and present the slate of nominees to the assembly.
Vita Information is due by April 9.
