Congregations have so much to teach each other. As congregations move from mere membership to Discipleship, we will find some things that really help -- and things that don't:
looking for good ideas and "best practices" for a congregational endeavor? (education, stewardship, publicity, hospitality and the like)
do you have a question, problem or concern about how to handle some aspect of life in the congregation and want to hear counsel from others?
do you have a "brag" -- something you are very proud of and which produced great results?
Curious? Want to make a comment or ask a question? Blog !!
WOW! Our Young Adult Sunday School class, at Grace Lutheran in Fort Worth, just finished Chapter one of the "Grounded in Grace to Run the Race" Bible Study offered by DiscipleLife Alive. This involved lively discussions, many comments and additional discussions as we completed these three pages.
Only three pages you say? Well those three pages took us six weeks to cover. Yep, six weeks! The discussions centered on leaders, how to develop them and how to support them. Are they new leaders? Are they the same old leaders? Or just people in general?
We discussed the questions that were in the study and then asked more questions. We looked at new direction; we looked at where we had been. We discussed what worked; what didn't and why. The results that we discovered, is that there is “No Support” for those trying to spread the Glory of God.
