The Evangelical Lutheran Church
in Sierra Leone
A Partner in DiscipleLife Alive!
The NT-NL Synod enjoys a partnership in ministry with the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sierra Leone. Together we have sought to expand the ministry that the ELCSL can offer in this extremely poor region of the world by assisting them in developing leadership, facilities and financial support. But even as we have sought to be a blessing to them, we have found that they are a wonderful blessing to us.

Dear Members of the Northern Texas - Northern Louisiana Synod:
We hope you have heard of The Jubilee Centre in Freetown, Sierra Leone, West Africa. It stands high on a hilltop overlooking Freetown and witnesses to the work Jesus Christ does in their recovering country.
The Jubilee Centre is a critical mission for the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sierra Leone. When complete, it will provide an updated women's center, expanded library for theological learning, youth gathering center, educational facility, community center, as well as a place of worship for more than 1,000 people. It already serves as a place for healing and spiritual growth in a place where war, greed, hate and violence left so many of our brothers and sisters without shelter, family, security or stability - the things we Americans take for granted.
Our brothers and sisters in Sierra Leone need our help to complete the Jubilee Center. A completion target has been set for November, 2009. Funds are still needed to complete the building and prepare for the dedication of the Jubilee Centre. At this time, $250,000 is the projected need for completion. With your continued support and generosity, The Jubilee Centre is nearing completion. Please continue to give in support of the progress already made. You may designate funds through your congregation to the "Jubilee Centre.
The Companion Synod Committee chairperson is Deb Lemon. She would love to work with you to deliver a powerful presentation to your congregation that will inspire giving and prayerful support of the Jubilee Centre. Contact
