SUMMARY:Storybook Beginning - NT-NL Youth
DESCRIPTION:You are invited to join other NT-NL Youth Groups going to Detroit this summer for the ELCA Youth Gathering. \nThe theme for this year’s Gathering is the entire book of Mark. This STORYBOOK BEGINNING event will include a presentation of the story of Jesus in Mark by TLU professor Dr. Phil Ruge-Jones\, who is a Markan scholar and storyteller. Dr. Ruge-Jones will present a live performance of the book of Mark for our group. \nWe will also have games\, conversations\, and dinner together so our young people from the NT-NL Mission Area can meet each other as we all prepare for this Journey To Detroit! In addition\, there will be an opportunity for adult leaders to collaborate and share. This event has been paid for by several gifts and all we ask is $5 per person for dinner if you are able. \nMany of you may be traveling from out of town and we have several local churches and host families that would love to gift you with housing for this weekend if you would like to make it a weekend event for your kids. DFW is a great place to do teambuilding with your group—museums\, Texas Rangers baseball games\, Six Flags Over Texas\, Hurricane Harbor\, the Fort Worth Stockyards\, and much more. \nPlease RSVP by Monday\, June 22! SUMMARY:2015 High School Extravaganza
DESCRIPTION:3RD ANNUAL NT-NL HIGH SCHOOL EXTRAVAGANZA\nJanuary 16-18\, 2015\nWorship\nSocial Outing\nService Projects\nFun & Games!\nThe schedule is for everyone to arrive at Calvary Lutheran Church in Fort Worth between 7:30-8:00 p.m. on Friday. The weekend will end with worship on Sunday morning. Groups will be heading out about 11:30 a.m. \nEach group will be asked to bring water bottles for their kids and a couple of snacks to share with the larger group on Friday night. We will send out service project assignments with your confirmation letter so you will know if special tools or attire are needed. \nThe Extravaganza Hosts will provide continental breakfast\, lunch and dinner on Saturday\, as well as breakfast on Sunday morning. \nHousing will be in the Family Life Center at Calvary so please bring bedding and an air mattress. We have showers so bring towels and shower stuff. \nIf congregations would prefer to stay at a hotel there are several within a few miles and we can block rooms for you. Please let us know if you would like to stay at a hotel as soon as possible so we know how many rooms to negotiate for. Any hotel costs are in addition to the $45 registration fee and will be paid directly to the hotel.  \nRegistration is due on December 7.  \nPlease send a deposit of $20 per youth to hold your spot. You will notice that we have dropped the cost considerably from last year since everyone is also raising money for the National Youth Gathering and we want to make this event affordable for everyone. \nDownload the registration packet here. \n

SUMMARY:Peer Ministry Adult Facilitator Training
DESCRIPTION:Peer Ministry is a vital ministry in congregations throughout the country and several right here in the NT-NL Mission Area! \nWe are bringing in a national trainer to train more adults to be facilitators.   We are fortunate to be able to keep the training cost low since Tom Schwolert\, a certified trainer of Peer Ministry facilitators\, lives in the area! \n  \nCost is $200 for each adult (includes the training\, materials\, and lunch) \n$500 flat fee for churches who bring 3 or more adults \n  \nYou can go to www.everydayllc.org to learn more about Peer Ministry. \nDownload the Peer Ministry facilitator training registration form here.
