Linda Ness attended Dallas ISD, Hillcrest High School, Baylor University, Valparaiso University, and University of Missouri. Work experience includes English and Composition teacher in high school and college level, free-lance, published writer, business owner almost 20 years (started, managed, and grew a nationwide wholesale manufacturing company which sold in 2009), Virtual Assistant to a business consultant and also a business broker (recruitment, meeting planning and arrangements, communications, newsletters, and other responsibilities as required), Account Manager for a chemical manufacturer (created customer service responsibilities, communication with accounts, hospitality related activities, new website creation, compliance with OSHA).
Past and present volunteer and community involvement includes membership of Advent Lutheran, Arlington, since 1988 (formed and participated in various teams – Women of Advent, Singles Group, Senior-Led Active Ministry, and more). Linda helped establish the endowment fund at Advent and has served several terms on this board. She also served several terms on Congregation Council (Personnel, Parish Life, as well as Strategic Plan boards, fund raising campaigns, choir, ushering, lector and other worship leadership).
Synod opportunities include Council membership where, among many other activities, she traveled to speak to many congregations bringing a message of thanks for support of the NT-NL. She also served as Communications Team Chair of the DiscipleLife Alive! Campaign, coordinating fund raising activities, brochures, packets, and two video productions, and has attended most Assemblies in the past 20 years either as a council member, voting member, or guest. She has been a member of the Grants Team of the MEF Board since 2017.
In her very active neighborhood, she published a monthly newsletter in both print and on-line form for 67 households, worked with the board to create and maintain a cohesive and cooperative atmosphere through pool activities, various social events, and neighborhood upkeep and improvement.
Linda’s immediate family includes husband, Tom Ness, two grown children, and four grandsons, plus her mother.
