“In that renewal there is no longer Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave and free; but Christ is all and in all!” Col 3:11
Bridges Book Club
The issue of racism continues to be part of our national conversation. In order to provide opportunities for us to learn, to talk, and to grow in our understanding of each other in a safe and constructive environment, the NT-NL’s Public Witness Team has established Bridges, a book club where these conversations may take place.
To be notified of future events, join the NT-NL PWT Facebook Group and join our mailing list (scroll down to select “Bridges Book Club”).
Courageous Conversations
After the 2014 NT-NL Assembly, two congregations in NT-NL decided to follow through on keynote speaker Joyce James’s call to action.
St. John’s, Dallas, a predominantly African-American congregation led by Pr. Doris Dupree-Harris, and Gloria Dei, Garland, a predominantly white congregation led by Pr. Chuck Hubbard, have been meeting to have “Courageous Conversations on Racism.” Find out how they started and how you can begin the process with your congregation.
