Saturday was one of those “miles and miles” days that Bishop Gronberg refers to often. The day began as I traveled to Grace Lutheran in Abilene to join others from around the Conference Out West who had also driven many miles to gather. They have conference meetings twice a year but this was the first in person since 2019 also. It was a good opportunity to hear what has been happening in these congregations as well as explore ways they can work together in our changing church.
On my way home, I stopped in at Faith Lutheran in Fort Worth for one of the two Mission Endowment Fund dinners. There was another one happening at Christ Lutheran in Dallas, but this was the one that worked on my way back from Abilene. It was also a great time to share good food, fellowship, and stories of mission throughout the Synod.
Long day, but good for the soul!
