The first full day of having Bishop Momoh from our partners of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sierra Leone (ELCSL) was a #milesandmiles adventure. Bishop and I traveled down to Waco to St. Matthew Lutheran which has long been a supporter of the ELCSL. There we enjoyed lunch provided by the Heart of Texas conference pastors (look at all those pastors serving in the kitchen) and learned and shared about the history and ministry of NT-NL Synod, ELCA and the ELCSL. He then joined us at Briarwood Leadership Center with our NT-NL Candidacy committee and candidates for ordination.
This is Bishop Momoh’s first visit to the United States. For seven years we have worked to get him a visa to travel and finally it was granted. As he had never been to Texas before either I introduced him to the obligatory kolache stop at West (it makes my kids happy). Tomorrow please join us for a reception at Advent Lutheran Church/Iglesia Adviento at 2pm. Or at Christ Lutheran Church and Preschool on Sunday for worship at 10am. Grateful for the bishop being with us as we work to be #InMissionTogether.
