Briarwood Lutheran Ministries began in 1995 and was registered as an independent non-profit in 1998. A history of Briarwood Lutheran Ministries can be found here.

In 2023 the physical property was sold. The ministry of Briarwood continues today as the Briarwood Legacy Endowment. The Endowment provides funds to the NT-NL synod focused on youth ministry and leadership formation.

One of the uses of the endowment is to provide scholarships for NT-NL congregations sending young people to an ELCA camp, mission trip or hosting an ELCA day camp. The scholarship request form can be found here.

Another way the endowment is supporting the NT-NL Synod is by helping fund Sabbatical and Renewal projects. More information and how to apply can be found here.
