The Briarwood Retreat Center/Briarwood Leadership Center gala “A Night Under the Stars” was a great evening of fun and fund raising on May 4th. We gathered again at Texas Star Golf Course in Euless. A wonderful meal was highlighted by stories of the ministry and also a time of vision casting by our new director, Dr. Robert Smith. He once again told about the vision of Briarwood that centers on camping but then extends outward to fulfill the vision of a leadership center.
During the evening we spent time honoring St. Matthews, Fort Worth as congregation or the year, Holly Trester as volunteer of the year and Tyna Oslie as Advocate of the year. As it is “Star Wars” (May the 4th) we even had a little light saber dueling as well. Mr. Aaron Colwick (youth leader at Grace, Carrollton and Rejoice, Coppell) led the fund the need portion of the gathering and did a spectacular job outlining the ministries and why it is so very essential we support this work. The event continues to do well, drawing over 130 attendees, many attending their first Briarwood gala. Net proceeds from the event were in excess of $65,000. We are grateful for all who many Briarwood go and who are supporting the vision of fulfilling the goal of the Briarwood Leadership Center. #NTNL #BWTX #InMissionTogether
