Thursday April 16th I was blessed to join Pastor Jim Rowe and the students of Lutheran Campus Ministry at Denton for online bible study. A wonderful group of young people who engaged with me the Matthew resurrection text. We talked about how God surprises us and that can be scary but that surprise also comes with the promise that Jesus goes ahead of us. An important word for young people, some of whom are graduating this spring into great uncertainty.
Grateful Avery Hawley from Briarwood Retreat Center/Briarwood Leadership Center could join us to talk about summer job openings as well as our NT-NL Synod, ELCA young adult initiative Young Adults of NT-NL Synod. After a long day of meetings and parenting the time with these young people was a gift.
