Received Christmas greetings today from Bishop Momoh of our partners in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sierra Leone, We are grateful for Bishop Momoh’s leadership and his re-election in 2021. The church has, as we have, struggled with great challenges in 2021. Covid-19 and a lack of availability of vaccines is a challenge. The Jubilee Center was significantly damaged in rain and wind storms in February. Not unlike our facilities at Briarwood Leadership Center.
Yet with help from you, the people of NT-NL Synod, ELCA and their continued reliance on the gospel the church continues its work. Remembering our primary work is to build up people, not buildings, they have, as you have, focused on education opportunities, serving our neighbors, providing for those in need. Proclaiming the gospel in Word and deed. The work the ELCSL has done lifting up women and girls especially is a vital witness.
Just this past week we were able to wire the #ELCSL your final quarterly financial gift to them for 2021. This is made possibly by your faithful financial support and commitment to our work #InMissionTogether. I take great encouragement, and I pray you do also, from these partners and their faithfulness to our calling to proclaim God’s Joy. #NTNL
