This weekend took me on a road trip further into our Conference Out West. After spending most of Saturday in Abilene, I drove on to San Angelo. It was my first time there, and even though it poured rain for most of my short visit, I enjoyed the the trip
Pr. Paul Zwarich was gone on vacation but we decided it was a good time for me to meet the congregation and fill a need for them. Their hospitality was wonderful! We had a meet and greet reception before the worship service because there was already a 90th birthday celebration scheduled for after worship. Of course I didn’t think to take a photo of Irene, the birthday girl, until I was halfway home. You’ll have to take my word for it – she was a delight!
One of the striking features at Calvary is the beauty of the woodwork – the font, the candle stands, and the cross on the wall. Someone did some beautiful work.
I definitely need to spend more time on the next visit.
