Sunday December 12th, the Feast Day of the Virgin of Guadalupe, was another big time across the territory of NT-NL Synod, ELCA. So big it deserved two photo collages.
For me Sunday began at my kiddos church Trinity Lutheran Church in Fort Worth. At the early service my kids joined with friends playing special music (the pianist is not mine, none of ours play piano). Then at the second service they joined in with friends for a special Christmas program. These are happening across NT-NL this year and after a year of missing them, what joy it is to have them together again. Certainly in different ways with masks and other precautions, but together.
Also down in Temple they celebrated the 40th anniversary of Covenant Lutheran. My associate Kris Totzke was with Pastor Heath Abel and the people there as they gave thanks. In the Killeen, TX paper today both Covenant’s anniversary and a sermon by Pastor Veronica Smith were featured in their faith section.
Finally, as the feast of the Virgin is today celebrations happened in many of our Conferencia Latina NT-NL ELCA congregations. Included was the annual grand Cabalgata at San Gabriel, Alvarado. While I couldn’t take part this year Facebook kindly reminded me via memories a previous year when I led the procession on horseback. A memory that should probably be relived in the future.
I pray your Sunday is blessed. Advent 3. Joy is coming. #NTNL #InMissionTogether.
