First official day of ELCA Churchwide Assembly 2019. Worship of course begins our time together and ELCA Secretary Chris Boerger (who was our NT-NL Synod, ELCA synod assembly churchwide representative) preached a good and challenging word at our opening worship.
At lunch our synod VP and I joined other leaders for a Milwaukee experience at the Milwaukee Brat House. I had the “Greek Freak” which is fusion cuisine of a Wisconsin brat served on a greek pita with greek salad relishes and fried cheese curds. Eating local never tasted so good as we honored the NBA MVP.
Our first plenary was 2.5 hours of learning and some action including the first ballot for presiding bishop. I am also here supporting young adult ministry in the ELCA. We do the work of the church and continue to gather this diverse and challenging community we call church. #NTNL #ELCACWA2019 #ELCAYA #InMissionTogether
