It was another DFW #MilesAndMiles weekend. Saturday morning my kiddos and I headed to Preston Meadow, Plano for their Men’s Connect Breakfast. I led a bible study on the presentation of our Lord and my kids were cared for by a wonderful young person from PMLC. We also had a good opportunity with Dr. Robert Smith to tell the story of Briarwood and the work we were doing there to make our investments pay dividends.
From there we went to Briarwood Retreat Center to connect with my spouse who was leading a women’s retreat from her parish. There I connected with ELCA Young Adults who were hosting a retreat at Briarwood for young folks discerning their call. I enjoyed time being on a panel to discuss how we discern calls and how God continues to work in us regardless of the work we are called to do. This isn’t just about working in the church, it is about living out the Lutheran understanding of vocation in all our lives.
Sunday I was back for worship there with the young adults including young people from NT-NL Synod, ELCA. This afternoon I parented as a volunteer in the parking lot at Trinity Lutheran Children’s Centersupporting my kids youth ministry. Then we had the annual Superbowl party. A good weekend. Encouraging and inspiring to be with our young adults. #NTNL #ELCAYoungAdults #InMissionTogether
