May 27th found me at Faith, Flower Mound (Pastor Rusty Sullivan). They are one of our larger congregations, a significant supporter of our life together financially and through volunteer hours, and a community that worship’s in two very distinct, yet faithfully Lutheran, styles (I reminded them that Lutheran isn’t a worship style, it is a theological confession, we can worship in many many ways and Faith lives that out).
It was a joy to be with them, celebrate their #TomorrowMatters campaign,http://www.faithchangeseverything.com/tomorrowmatters/ and the profound influence and impact their generosity is making. We also were able to give thanks for their generosity to Briarwood Retreat Center and honor two of their members (Greg Getting & Bruce Haugen) as volunteers of the year. Faith is close to Briarwood geographically and also in connection and commitment. We are grateful for them and their faithful support of our retreat center ministry.
We are thankful for relationships. Faith has relationship as a central value. Holy Trinity Sunday reminds us of the gift that God is in relationship to Godself as well as invites us into relationship. Relationship, connection, this is what being #InMissionTogether is all about. #NTNL #FaithFM
