Many of my congregational visits seem to be connected to events — anniversaries, installations, departing pastors, and most recently a closing. But today was just a plain old ordinary visit. Faith is served by retired pastor Paul Cannon, who recently relocated to Abilene to be closer to a new grandbaby, and we were blessed to have him fall into our laps. The congregation of Faith in Sagerton is doubly blessed because his wife Holly is a wonderful pianist who has become their worship musician.
Following worship this morning, I met with the council just to have conversation — no agenda. After lunch with Pr. Cannon and Holly, it was a simple drive home. Sometimes the simple visits are a breath of fresh air.
