My Panhandle weekend continued on Sunday morning with my first visit to Gloria Dei in Lubbock. Pr. Jeff Vayda just retired from serving there for over a decade.
The congregation is located on a lovely property with plenty of room and a playground that was well used recently to serve a couple dozen neighborhood children for VBS. They have struggled mightily thanks to the Covid quarantine and will now be in a time of discernment during the transition. My conversation with the congregation after worship covered a variety of options and shared ministry opportunities that we will be exploring together. Hope still abounds and faith is strong.
