After taking time off road travel due to my hip surgery, it was time this week to get my travel mojo back. Pr. Joe Woodward took a new call in his home state of South Carolina, so I needed to visit the congregation council at St. John in Bartlett to talk about the upcoming interim time.
The church building at St. John looks like a sister to the St. John where I grew up in Wisconsin. I didn’t get to see the inside since our meeting was in an adjacent building. But I’ll be back. I’ll likely get to know them well in the months ahead.
Day two of the road trip was a while different experience as I joined the HOT conference pastors for their monthly meeting. It was hosted by SAWL Austin Nickel at the new home of First Lutheran in Waco. They sold their building over a year ago, and have now found a new home at the Episcopal Center at Baylor University. Their new worship space is beautiful!
It was fun to finally join this great group of pastors too!
My trip ended with a return to Killeen to join some of the council members for a check in on their interim process. Packed in as much as I could in two days. It was a good way to return to my travel adventures.
