When Bishop Momoh visited NT-NL Synod, ELCA last August he put forward a proposal for a sustainability and leadership development project in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sierra Leone. This project involved purchasing a water bottling machine to harvest and bottle clean water for sale in Freetown. Our synod council approved a $20,000 investment into this project to provide start up capital and the machine they needed.
The hope and dream was that this project would both generate revenue for the church as well as provide opportunity for employment and leadership development. The attached letter demonstrates the good progress, despite the challenges, that they are seeing in this work.
I appreciate Bishop Momoh’s clear transparency and sharing of the results from projects we invest in together. We are committed to developing and building up people. And this project and its good progress already shows a good return on investment. Thanks be to God for our partners and for their work. #NTNL #ELCSL #InMissionTogether
