Lutheran Disaster Response (LDR) is a leader national and global faith based non-governmental organization supported by the ELCA and other Lutheran Church bodies. It is well respected because of its consistency of response and resilience in disaster. I am grateful for LDR’s work in Texas and Louisiana. As we are now in hurricane season, they offer suggestions for both the sites of disaster response and for volunteers who might want to help in the face of disaster. These are attached here. Please take time to read them and consider how you will ensure that a disaster site does not become a hotbed for Covid-19 spread. This is essential for us as part of neighbor care.
