It’s ministers week at Brite Divinity School at TCU – Texas Christian University. A wonderful time of continuing education and worship each year. Wonderful speakers and this year Dr. David Lose (Sr. Pastor, Mt. Olivet, Minneapolis) is the preacher for the evening services.
Unfortunately my schedule has prevented me from attending many of the events but I was grateful to be invited for a small group lunch with Dr. Lose by President Newell Williams. Also in attendance was my spouse (whose status as a Brite alum probably got me invited) as well as an ELCA candidate for ministry from the Southeastern Synod who is a student at Brite.
Great to spend time with this group of folks at one of the many locations for theological education across the #MilesAndMiles of NT-NL Synod, ELCA. As we continue to build the Briarwood Retreat Center Leadership center connections with these institutions are vital.
The bishop is also called to be a pastor for the synod. So also this morning I drove over to a hospital in Richardson to pay a pastoral call on former NT-NL staff member Judy Rommel. It was good to see her and pray with her. Grateful for the primary pastoral care and ministry of the people of Christ, Dallas and Interim Pastor Lanny Wesphal where she is a member. #NTNL #Briarwood #BriteDivinity #TCU #InMissionTogether
