Message from Bishop Gronberg
Dear Partners in Mission:
The rains continue in Sierra Leone and are predicted to continue throughout next week. Bishop Momoh has sent me pictures of the flooding and devastation. Due to deforestation and overbuilding on hill sides and in valleys, mudslides also endanger communities.
Thus far Bishop reports the church communities are doing well but are in need of funds to purchase supplies to distribute to those who have lost their homes and crops. We have already forwarded funds to the ELCSL thanks to our NT-NL Synod disaster relief fund. But there is continued need and our fund is getting low.
Please consider a donation. You can do so online at https://tithe.ly/give_new/www/#/tithely/give-one-time/1183611 and specifying disaster response in the drop down. Or you can send funds to the synod office: NT-NL Synod, ELCA | 680 Copper Canyon Rd | Argyle, TX 76226. #NTNL #ELCSL #InMissionTogether
In Christ,
Bishop Gronberg
Request for Donation Drives
From our partners at Refugee Services of Texas – Dallas:
RST Dallas is looking to increase our donation support through donation drives. We have a high need for diapers, car seats, backpacks with school supplies, non-perishable food items, and hygiene kits. These items provide essential services to newly arrived families. If you are interested in hosting a donation drive, please email Aby at aklansek@rstx.org for more information.
We continue to accept the following donation items at our office: laptops, car seats, hygiene items, diapers, formula, bikes, sewing machines, backpacks, school supplies, and non-perishable food items. Check our our Amazon wish list here.

Where in the world is?
Across a context as wide and different as NT-NL, the reality of Covid-19 is very different. As such, NT-NL synod staff are doing more in-person Sunday visits for worship and occasional meetings. However, as good stewards of time and travel dollars, we will be utilizing online meeting formats into our new hybrid future. Given the rise of breakthrough infections and in order to protect those gathered, the synod staff will choose to wear masks as is deemed appropriate unless preaching or presiding and sufficient social distancing can be provided.
