This afternoon (Oct 23) I was able to zoom in to our NT-NL Synod, ELCA NT-NL Synodical Women’s Organization biennial convention. It was a joy to say thank you to these dedicated women for their work and faithfulness in these challenging times. The focus of the day was on “Going to the Well” and their offering will go to build water wells in Sierra Leone. We are grateful for the many ways our SWO serves.
It was also a joy to have the report from the churchwide expression of WELCA come from former bishop Vivian Thomas-Brietfeld. Vivian was a colleague of mine when we served in the Greater Milwaukee Synod. She also is a graduate of Cornell University so I could not help but remind her that my Crimson defeated Cornell last Saturday in football. It is good to be together, online and/or inperson. #NTNL #InMissionTogether
