Mental Wellness: Thinking our Being
Busy clergy and lay ministers can become overwhelmed by the nature of the situations their parishioners are facing. At the 22nd Annual Faith Community Symposium, Chris Adams, Ph.D., with the Duke Clergy Health Initiative, and Gwen Halaas, M.D., author of The Right Road: Life Choices for Clergy, will share the latest research in clergy mental wellness and provide practical applications for increasing your effectiveness in ministry.
Breakout sessions will dive deeper into commonly encountered mental health issues:
- Emotional Barriers to Weight Loss – Ross Teemant, LCSW
- Youth and Bullying – Barbara Alderete, LCSW, LPC, LMFT
- Alzheimer’s and Dementia – Diana Kerwin, M.D.
- Clergy Burnout and Depression – Gwen Halaas, M.D.
The Symposium is FREE to the public, but registration is required, as seats are limited. Breakfast is provided.
