After almost seven and a half years in this call, there aren’t many congregations that I haven’t visited yet. On Sunday I got to check off one more from the list. It was my first visit to Our Savior in Mesquite where Pr. John Schelter serves. Good timing too, as they have a “Marty Gras” celebration every year before Ash Wednesday. Yes, “Marty” Gras.
Martin Luther made an appearance while we all dined on a delicious pancake and sausage breakfast. There was King Cake and limbo dancing and a mini Mardi Gras parade. Plus crawdad races (all crawdads were later released in a local wildlife area) and a pancake flipping race.
There was fun and good fellowship had by all!
