I grew up in Texas, but I got my first youth ministry job in Eden Prairie, MN. My wife, Melanie, is from Minnesota, and we lived there for 17 years and had three children where I worked at 3 ELCA congregations doing youth and family ministry and music. In 2005, we moved back to Texas where I worked as the youth and family minister at Faith Lutheran Church in Flower Mound, TX. I worked for the last 3 years doing coaching and training with Vibrant Faith, and last fall, decided to return to parish ministry. Our oldest daughter, Jazmine, lives and works in Austin but will be getting married in August and moving to Florida. Our other daughter, Zoey, will be starting her junior year of college in the fall at the University of Arkansas. Our son, Max, passed away unexpectedly in 2012. We have a non-profit that gives $5,000 college scholarships to young people. My wife works for a hospice agency. We currently live in Lewisville, TX, and I am a Synodically Authorized Worship Leader (SAWL) at Joy Lutheran Church in Rockwall, TX.
