Spent the morning of Sunday April 15th celebrating 95 years of First United, Dallas. Begun in North Dallas in 1923 this congregation has been a fixture on Mockingbird Lane, just east of Southern Methodist University since 1948. As a result they have been a gift to Lutheran students at SMU as well as benefited from the music programs at SMU (as they currently do with their excellent prize winning organist).
After celebrating I headed north to Denton. I popped in to an Anytime Fitness in Lewisville for a quick workout (part of my strategy to be more regular in exercise despite the many miles I drive).
In Denton I met with the board of Lutheran Campus Ministry at UNT and Texas Womens University. Good conversation and planning about how to make this ministry more a part od the vision of #NTNL to connect with young adults. A good day on a triangle tour of the metroplex. #MilesAndMiles #1stUnited#LCM #InMissionTogether
