Friday January 31st and Saturday Feb 1st our Conference Deans, Synod Council, and Mission Endowment Fund board met at Briarwood Retreat Center/Briarwood Leadership Center.
We learned a great deal from Mr. Nick Kiger from the ELCA Churchwide Staff who came to present on a variety of ways to look at demographics and statistics within our life together. This was combined by presentations from our NT-NL Synod, ELCA stewardship team and also Deaconess Katrina Martich (St. Matthews, Fort Worth) who presented on her time at the Lutheran Disaster Response conference on climate issues and preparation as stewardship.
While we were meeting, our synod was also represented at the ELCA annual youth ministry Extravaganza. Our communicator Jason was there with ELCA Coaching offering practice coaching sessions and trainings. Grateful we can offer that gift to the wider church.
It was a good weekend of learning and challenge. Again asking what is the compelling story we share and how do we best steward that message. I am.ever so grateful for the leadership of our synod and their faithful service. #NTNL #InMissionTogether
