Part of this week (June 13, 2022) I am spending at Wartburg Seminary in Dubuque, IA. Wartburg is one of the seminaries of the ELCA and the only one that I have never had the opportunity to visit. As we have several students in various programs at Wartburg, and we have contributed two of our Conferencia Latina pastors to Wartburg for various programs I thought it would be good to visit.
Have enjoyed the opportunity to chat with President Largen of the seminary. Participate in worship with the TEEM students on campus for their intensive week. Check out the work in the library as they get ready for renovations, and also visit various parts of the VERY hilly city of Dubuque. It has also been fun to connect with and take to lunch a young man from my home congregation in Austin who has just completed his first semester of study at Wartburg.
Grateful for this time to be present on the campus. For their hospitality of guest rooms and even a guest office. And for our institutions of theological education. Later this week I will be traveling to the Twin Cities to visit my seminary alma mater Luther Seminary and also visit with some bishop colleagues in southern Minnesota. Good to be able to connect. #NTNL #InMissionTogether
