I have said many times that working with Candidacy often feels like Confirmation in a different level for me. It is a joy to see the development of gifts and growth in confidence and leadership in these many individuals.

Today I was blessed to participate in the graduation service for one of f our TEEM candidates, Austin Nickel.

Austin has been serving at First Lutheran in Waco, where he will be called as pastor when he has completed his candidacy requirements and approval. He has now finished his studies at the Lutheran Seminary Program of the Southwest under the guidance of the Rev. Dr. Jay Alanis.

Several members of First came down to Austin to celebrate with Austin (confusing, right?) as well as some pastors from various parts of his history. It was a great day of joy and hope for the church!
