While I have yet to make a Sunday morning visit to St. John in Bartlett, I have now been there twice to meet with their council and call committee. This week was the call committee orientation.
I arrived a half hour early, as the confirmation students were finishing up their last class of the school year. So Interim Pastor Becky Sogge asked the kids to give me a tour of the church.
While on the outside, the building looks a whole lot like the St. John in Edgar, WI used to as I was growing up there (before many remodeling projects,) inside was very different. But the same German influence was definitely present, and obvious in the words imprinted on the baptismal font.
I look forward to the ongoing work with this call committee and congregation.
