Creation Care & Climate Change: It’s About the Kids!
THIS Saturday, February 25
Join us for a discussion about environmental stewardship and actions we can take today as Christians to care for the Earth. An outstanding faculty will outline the theological and biblical context for creation care and the Church’s responsibility to future generations.
The $13 registration fee includes coffee, snacks, and lunch. $20 registration at the door.
Childcare available for children of registered attendees. Ages 0-6 free, ages 7-12 $10 each to cover lunch.
If you cannot make this event in person, we are planning to live stream. You can access that via the Public Witness Team YouTube channel: Morning session / Afternoon session

LIRS’s Migrant and Refugee Leadership Academy
“Lutheran Immigration and Refugee Service is excited to announce that applications for the 2017 Migrant and Refugee Leadership Academy are open!
This will be the fifth annual LIRS Academy event, and we are looking for migrant and refugees who are active leaders in their communities. Our vision is to take these leaders and help them grow and refine their skills. What they learn at this event, they have the opportunity to take home and implement in their own communities, with some grant support from LIRS available.
This three day event gives migrants and refugees the opportunity to come together to share experiences, connect with each other, and develop the skills necessary to advocate on issues that affect migrants and refugees. This year the Academy will take place June 18-20, 2017.
If selected to attend, LIRS will pay for all transportation, room and board. Space is limited, so please apply today! Applications must be received by March 17.
If you have any questions, feel free to email Deanne Walters at DWalters@lirs.org.”

One way to engage your congregation in this initiative is through a new resource, Global Church Minutes. These are short, one minute or less, prayers to be incorporated into weekly worship throughout 2017 and serve as a reminder of our connection to our brothers and sisters around the world.
