My Panhandle visit worked out to coincide with the installation of our newest Synodically Authorized Worship Leader. Sean McConathy is serving at Trinity in Lockney (Providence) while he attends Wartburg Seminary through their Collaborative Learning program.
This is a new way of enabling students to attend classes via Zoom while working in congregations. It allows for them to learn in context while remaining close to home. We have three candidates in our synod who have all begun this program this year. I’m thankful for Wartburg’s creative approach to learning.
I’m also thankful for Trinity’s willingness to step out in faith as a teaching congregation. Their leadership has embraced this role wonderfully. Sean also has tremendous support from his Panhandle colleagues.
The church is always changing and always seeking new ways to prepare leaders. I’m blessed to be part of these journeys.
