Saturday Oct 19th was a big time across NT-NL Synod, ELCA. In the morning pastors and leaders from 4 congregations gathered at Paul Quinn College for a meeting of our Leadership for Faithful Innovation cohort in cooperation with Luther Seminary. Bishop’s Associate Kris Totzke was with them before she headed to the airport to be with Oslo, Gruver on Sunday morning and Trinity, Lockney in the afternoon as we install Sean McConathy as SAWL there.
I spent the morning at the dojo with my daughters for sparring class. Then headed straight to their church for the celebration of the 55th Anniversary of the Trinity Lutheran Church Children’s Center. We had a ball playing together and enjoying beautiful north Texas fall weather.
This evening we enjoyed the hospitality of Advent, Arlington for the annual celebration of the NT-NL Mission Endowment Fund. This fund gave 29 grants totalling $80,000 in 2019 to a variety of ministries across our synod. We were glad to welcome our former bishop, the Rev. Dr. Kevin Kanouse, as our auction leader and encourager. With his leadership we raised well over $20,000 for this fund. I am grateful for the leadership of our new director Linda Ness.
A full Saturday. Tomorrow I will be at Joy, Rockwall. #NTNL #InMissionTogether
