My visits to congregations continued this weekend with Trinity Lutheran in Clifton. Pr. Clay McCord just retired at the end of the year, so I was there to lead worship for their first Sunday without him. It is our commitment that we are in mission together with them, as they move forward to a new season in their life.
These visits are a gift to me, as I continue to discover the gifts and treasures of our NT-NL congregations. This historic sanctuary was beautiful. The paraments dressing the chancel are unique and beautiful – designed to have the colors of every season of the church year so they can be used year round. The unique silver ciborium was like none I’ve ever seen (with the lamb symbolizing the Lamb of God held within.) But even more than all of these, the members of this congregation are a gift of faith and love.
