We had a busy weekend of NT-NL Synod, ELCA Assembly. A blessed time together for worship, learning, and business. Now back to the variety of opportunities and challenges we face. This morning we had staff meeting where we updated one another on various areas of our life together. Including the upcoming Regional Consultation meeting tomorrow where three NT-NL candidates for rostered ministry will be assigned.
Later in the morning I had time to connect with former NT-NL Synod Secretary Todd Weiss who has worked a great deal with the DFW Faith-Health Collaborative. Today he introduced me to Cequila Green from Pieces Tech, a Dallas firm, that works to connect church and social ministries to provide health and wellness resources to communities, particularly marginalized communities. Look for more resources on this in our June Leader News.
This afternoon I checked in via zoom with a summit of ELCA leaders relating to immigration and border ministry. Particularly with the continually changing situations on the border. It is a great thing to see us getting out of our synod and churchwide silos to partner better to address the needs of the communities in our midst. Again, learning resources and skills to share with our Conferencia Latina NT-NL ELCA and all our congregations.
Glad to be back to this vital work connecting us together as church to serve our communities. #NTNL #InMissionTogether
