Rise Up Together: 2015 ELCA Youth Gathering
Have you started saving for your congregation’s youth to attend the ELCA’s Youth Gathering next summer in Detroit? Consider registration fees, transportation, lodging, meals…
The ELCA Mission Investment Fund, the financial ministry of the ELCA, offers a special Demand Investment Youth Ministry account.
With this account, you earn interest on your fundraising dollars—and have the flexibility and convenience of writing checks as expenses occur. Your congregation can open an MIF Demand Investment Youth Ministry account for as little as $100, and your funds will be available to you when you need them.
The Mission Investment Fund will also host an on-site Service Center at the Gathering, July 15-19, 2015. Authorized account holders will be able to conveniently cash checks on their MIF Demand accounts at this Service Center at the youth event.
July 2015 is closer than you think. Visit mif.elca.org/youthministry for more information and to download a Demand Investment Youth Ministry account application.
For information on MIF investments and ministry loans, contact MIF Customer Service at 877-886-3522 or your MIF Regional Manager, Pastor Pam Dorman at 224-935-7243 or email pam.dorman@elca.org.
The NT-NL Lutheran Youth Organization leaders are collecting preliminary information from congregations planning on attending the Gathering in Detroit. Please fill out this quick form to let us know your plans!

West Africa Ebola Crisis: Donations Still Being Collected
Thanks to your generous donations, both from individuals and congregations, we have already sent two 40-foot containers of medical supplies to Sierra Leone, and are working on sending a third.
We have also sent $15,000 to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sierra Leone for hunger relief. Thanks to your donations, 250 families (each family consists of 10-15 people) will receive a big bag of rice, a gallon of cooking oil, and a half carton of tomato paste—enough to feed them for a month.
While this is good news, there is still so much more to be done.
Please consider making a donation (or an additional donation) or taking a special offering in your congregation, and also spreading the word to friends and family.
Donations can be made through PayPal or by mail: NT-NL Mission Office, P.O. Box 560587, Dallas TX 75356-0587.

The NT-NL Mission Area will observe Global Church Sunday on Sunday, Sept. 21
Congregations are invited to celebrate our church’s connection and common mission within Christ’s global church by sponsoring a Global Church Sunday. Celebrate by taking a special offering for an ELCA missionary or global ministry, hosting a coffee hour with treats from around the world or including global songs in your worship service.
A toolkit of these and other ideas for congregations can be found here (click on the “Global Church Sunday” tab). For more information, contact globalchurch@elca.org.
