If you had told me a year ago that an Ordination would look like this, I would have told you that you’re crazy. Handful of people, all wearing a masks, sitting far apart from each other. But Adam Stockton will be able to say his ordination was certainly unique.
Most ordinations are almost like a wedding – packed sanctuary and lots of hugging and celebration. But most ordinations don’t take place during a pandemic. However, all that was necessary to get Adam ordained was in place. Bishop Gronberg, some folks from his new congregation at Rejoice in Frisco (including Senior Pastor Neil White and a praise team to add the music,) Adam’s wife Marlette and family members. Oh, and I got to preach too.
This one was especially meaningful for me, as I was Adam’s pastor before he went to work at Rejoice as their youth and family director and I went off to join the synod staff. So it was an honor to be able to accompany him along the way of Candidacy as a part of my job. These are days that bring joy to my heart! God’s blessings to Pr. Adam Stockton and his congregation at Rejoice!
