Many in our Synod are familiar with Lutheran Sunset Homes in Clifton, but there are also two retirement communities in Denton that also have Lutheran roots. Today I visited one of the Good Samaritan villages to preach at their weekly worship – Lake Forest Village. Pr. Ken Hovland, an ELCA pastor, is the chaplain there and he invited me to come and preach today.

The main building houses nursing and rehab residences as well as assisted living, but there is also an abundance of independent living there too. Most of that is in the form of single family houses, duplexes and some apartment buildings. Nice place!  Good faith roots!
